Impatiens

Impatiens

Plant Type

Impatiens

They’re the number one shade annual for a reason! With very little maintenance aside from watering, Impatiens make it easy to add full mounds of color to an otherwise dark and lifeless space in the garden. They grow anywhere from 6-30 inches tall in bush-like heaps. Impatiens get their name from the way their ripe seed pods burst at the slightest touch, scattering the seeds in all directions. Although most popular as a bedding plant, impatiens do well as border plants and for the increasingly popular container gardening.
